Homework
Assignment
Requirement:
Watch the DVD, for each scenario write a
critique of the scene explaining how you, as an agent, would have accomplished
the mission successfully. Be prepared to
defend your conclusions in class if necessary.
Lindsey Middlemass starred at the unlabeled
DVD for a few seconds then popped it into the open tray of her laptop and
closed the door. While the machine
booted up the disc she opened Word Pad, transferred it to her second screen and
prepared to make notes. While she waited
she began to reflect on her last name and how maybe it was becoming a
truism. She’d always been top of or near
the top of her class, good looking, popular, smart dresser, but now, amongst all
the new recruits she’d quickly and rapidly ascended to the middle of the
pack. She’d even heard a few whispers
when she’d screwed up in classes to the effect of Middlemiss. She didn’t have any further time to dwell on
mediocrity as the first lesson started.
Lindsey watched the first scene through
making mental notes. She repeated the
process this time grabbing screen captures as she went to hi-light and support
her analysis. She watched it a final
time in a slower speed adding any captures she thought relevant.
Scenario
One:
There are really two weapons at work here,
the classic woman in a man’s shirt and the knife. However in this case one weapon does not
enhance and in fact reduces the others effectiveness. While the shirt acts as the classic
distraction it leaves her with no place to conceal the knife except of course
for the cleaver use of her hair. A
simple lie convinces him she’s a bobble being offered to him for his return to active duty and she is close to completing her mission nearly getting him to
her arms, which was always her goal for close contact, the natural closing of
the eyes during a kiss and she could kill him.
When this opportunity slips away, she fails
to adapt instead she resets and intends to play the scene out as she imagined
it instead of making use the opportunity presented. This is her second mistake.
As can be observed from the pictures when
he walks away she had more than ample opportunity to slip the knife free and
plunge it home as she came up behind him.
This is her third mistake. Once she manages to convince him she very
nearly undoes all her work by having to deflect his arms to around her waist to
naturally keep the knife a secret. The
motion is unnatural and disrupts the rhythm causing a reset and a delay, her
fourth mistake; she was always dependent on one type of embrace and failed to
control how to make it happen. She
eventually succeeds but seems to act in slow motion, her fifth mistake, but for
the intervention of another woman she may have succeeded against so many
errors.
The shirt and heels is a classic
allure. I do take issue with the choice
of heel. I would have gone with a
classic pump, not a strap. I find with a
classic pump the eye flow is much better and does not disrupt the eye so much
as it scans, merely my preference.
Of course the agent must also be concerned
about her height Vis a Vis her target, so heel size plays a roll. If she has the legs for it the no heel option
would work just as well and give her the added benefit of should hand to hand
combat become necessary she is well prepared for combat. I would only recommend this option if the
agent was an expert fighter as it takes away another weapon option as the
paragraph below explains.
In continuing with the shoes they need to
be more than just an accentuation to her legs.
A concealed knife blade in toe would have been an excellent weapon to
deploy in the picture below. Using heels
would provide her with another option built in retractable stiletto blades in
the heel points, no matter how small or large, depending on the heel they
ensure an excellent and deadly weapon.
Having armored her with some more steel as
backup should the plan not play out as expected she should have been armed with
more subtle weapons. The picture below
could and should have included all three of those.
This should have been the conclusion of her
mission. Her lipstick could have
discharged its poisonous flavouring with just a touch. However she need not have worried if he’d resisted
as he did in the video, she has him already ensnared. Her nails could have scratched home the poison
her lips failed to deliver, they look well-manicured and sharp and painted a
simple flick and her mission would have been a success. Note the lack of a ring; a poison injection
ring is a simple accoutrement no female agent should be without.
Scenario
Two:
She has the perfect means of elimination, a
concealed device time delayed device which when activated will finish the
job. All she needs to do is place it and
leave, instead she lets her ego and desire get in the way of the mission, a bad
and in this case, fatal combination. As
an organization I would rather have an agent fail in a mission but survive than
have a mission fail and that agent die.
She had the mission completed and instead over complicated it with her
insertion back into it.
Scenario
Three:
Not quite a man’s shirt this time but close
enough. This time however the female
agent is far from convincing. She
invites him onto the bed, but she is still wearing shoes, it tells him she has
other plans
and
does not intend to be their long, mistake one.
Her
second mistake is having the knife as her only means of termination as it
leaves her exposed should the tables be turned.
Her kisses are far too tentative and quick underlying nervousness. They don’t serve as a distraction in fact
they could be setting off alarms in the target.
Her positioning is excellent, but her speed and decisiveness of poor.
She is inches from finishing but has allowed herself to
be rolled thus losing the power of a downward thrust and her arm is
blocked. At this point she needs to roll
him back, a long kiss and a press of her body closer would have done the
trick. Its also clear at this point that
the knife is not going to work, she needs another means of execution.
She is wearing three rings, poisonous inject ring would
have done the trick or perhaps a strangulation wire ring. Once in her embrace she could have easily
pulled the wire silently out, wrapped it around his neck at least once, perhaps
twice, rolled him over and pulled up using her body to hold him down. Again we see the lack of multiple weapon
choices causing a failure this time complicated by a nervous agent unsure of
her own talents.
Scenario
Four:
The example of how to do things right. This agent is of the four reviewed in my
opinion the plainest of the them all, but she is the best. In her first encounter she looks to be in
trouble but the words out of his mouth tell her she’s in total command.
She seizes the opportunity and him and
applies her fatal embrace.
Notice how she holds her prey; he can’t get
away even if he should want to. The
pleasure of her body only helps to conceal its deadly capabilities. She makes quick work of the task then races
off to save her partner.
A
prisoner she again plays the damsel in distress to perfection. She does not overplay it until she recognizes
once again that she is the aggressor even though she’s the captured agent. His removal of her clothes serves to give him
a sense of false control, a power imbalance, if you will. Posing to display her assets perfectly she
baits the trap, a defenseless agent in waiting.
He steps into her web and is immediately seized by the
venous spider and bitten in the most pleasurable way. She clearly makes the best use of her assets. Notice how she holds him to her but in
reality its her kiss that binds him to her.
She never makes a sudden move or tries to escape too early. He leads the way to the bed and when they
separate the knowing smile on her face tells all, her poisonous bite has been
completely effective. Both these
scenarios show the perfect example of how to allure and complete a mission and
that stunning looks or complex plans do not always make for the best agent or
outcome.
Please can you name all the movies . I know the first one is the Silencers
