Yoga can be bad for your health

Yoga is about mind and body together, perfection of it is when the two merge to become one,

the senses becoming more than their sum.  Layton Hemmings had been pursuing it since

she was a young teenager.  She was still doing so, being a FORCE agent had allowed that

pursuit a rapid acceleration.  The cool morning air allowed her body and mind to breathe.

She always practiced in the nude, even in cold weather, several teachers had told her it

brought the two forces together, one lending the other strength so balance was achieved.

Layton never thought about her positions, she just moved, the key was flow, smooth transitions,

letting the adjustment from one position to the other be just as mindful as the end result.  Her

body slowly unfolded itself, like a flower in the morning light.  She turned herself to the sun and

reached for it, her lithe body stretching up, ever upward to the light while remaining rooted in the

ground.  Her Eagle Claw Headstand was as graceful unfolding as an eagle soaring in the sky.

Layton made it look effortless, her sinuous form, still and sumptuous so that even the flowers

paled in comparison.

She went into deep meditation, her breathing controlled and sparse, her form motionless, likethat of a snake just before it strikes.

The suppressed HK M13 fired two shots, both hitting their target.  Layton unravelled her coiled

form, slowly lowered her legs in front of her, then raised her torso, picking up the gun as she came up.

‘People always assume that meditation blocks out the outside world, that you become inwardly

focused so much that you aren’t aware of your surroundings any longer.  Well, that as you can

see and more importantly, in your case, feel TRIDENT agent is false,’ Layton offered as she

walked toward him, her foot stepping on his gun just as he was about to grab it.  ‘Oh no, you had

your chance and blew it,’ she added, sweeping his pistol away as he lay on the ground both his

knees blown away from her weapon.

‘I don’t like my workout routine interrupted as you can tell.  Normally, I forgive and forget, but

there are always exceptions and TRIDENT is one.  I could hear you coming a long way off.

The deeper I go into myself the more of the outside world I hear and become part of, you never

had a chance, you just thought you did.  You would have had a better chance taking me any

other time and it would have been more interesting, same ending, but more interesting and surely

more intimate, but not to be.  So here we are, My meditation is ruined, your knees are gone, I have

a flight to catch to continue my mission, you can’t escape, killing you with my yoga is out of the

question, you’re a mess, so that just leaves this,’ Layton said putting the suppressor against his

forehead and pulling the trigger.
