Orghum Stories - Introduction

The mid-sixties were a golden age for the portrayal of my favorite type of murderess, the seductive but deadly spy-femme. Bond girls, slaygirls (Matt Helm movies) and other go-go booted, miniskirt clad vixens populated countless films. Bond and the other heroes of these films always seemed able to elude these femmes fatales, but I empathized more with the victims of their charms, feeling that a man was lucky to die in the arms of a gorgeous woman. The short list of my favorite villainesses includes Senta Berger (The Ambushers), Elke Sommer (Deadlier than the Male) and Ursula Andress (The Tenth Victim). Likewise good girls such as Diana Rigg (The Avengers) and Barbara Feldon (Get Smart), though usually not as vicious as the bad girls, knew how to use their charms to distract and sometimes manipulate the men around them. The following are profiles of my post-feminist squad of hired killers who are inspired by my fascination with the women of that era.

 

Sarah Profile:

Petite blond with the ability to adopt the appearance of women of different ages.

Lethal combination of worldly sophistication and youthful seductiveness.

Speaks English (adept with east and west coast American, British, and Australian accents), French, and Spanish.

Skills include skiing, tennis, figure skating (junior national medalist), computer proficiency and a strong scientific/technical background, specializing in biochemistry.

Prefers to use poison with a range of delivery methods, from ingested to injected.

 

Nadine Profile:

Deadly curvy brunette who specializes in assignments in the art/entertainment world.

Deceptively strong, agile and an expert in the martial arts.

Most comfortable with Irish inflected English, but able to use the east coast American vernacular as well as Italian (Ligurian accent) and French.

Knowledgeable in the use of explosives and knives, but also able to use more subtle methods.

 

Rebecca Profile:

Statuesque redhead with lithe, athletic build and disarming sensuality.

Fluent in English (mid-western/western accent) and German; possesses basic Japanese and Chinese (Taiwanese dialect).

Skills include most sports, dancing (trained in ballet), scuba diving, archery, and expert markswoman.

Fluidly utilizes an extensive range of lethal techniques, setting up her hits with her warm, inviting appeal before delivering a deadly surprise, a classic femme fatale.

 

Marie Profile:

Stunning young hitter with long legs, alluring sensuality and a lean, graceful body.

Uses her irresistible charms to fatally seduce her victims.

Excellent clerical skills enable her to use a secretarial position to get close to targets.

Fluent in English (northern California accent) and Spanish.

Utilizes a unique and lethally effective killing technique that conceals its delivery method and leaves few traces.
